The guide showcases Hong Kong’s reputation as a global gourmet capital by inviting graduates from the Chinese Culinary Institute’s Master Chef Course in Chinese Cuisine to share their personal favorite restaurants.
These include executive chefs from five-star hotels and Michelin-starred establishments, who recommend a wide range of eateries covering traditional Chinese regional cuisines such as Cantonese, Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan and Yunnan, alongside international options like French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian, Singaporean and Malaysian.
The selections span everything from authentic noodle shops and classic Hong Kong-style dessert parlors to long-established restaurants, trendy cafes, luxury hotel dining rooms, and top-tier Michelin venues.
The initiative aligns with the HKTB’s “Hong Kong Neighbourhoods” campaign, encouraging visitors to explore beyond central areas, discover local flavours and support sustainable tourism growth.
A user-friendly campaign website has been launched, allowing easy searches by neighborhood, cuisine type, dining occasion, Quality Tourism Services accreditation, halal certification or Michelin status.
A downloadable digital guide is available, and QR codes placed at MTR stations, bus shelters and visitor spots across districts enable on-the-go access to chef-curated recommendations.
Promotional videos will also appear at major tourist locations, including the airport, Lan Kwai Fong, shopping malls and hotels.
To reach global audiences, the HKTB is collaborating with popular Asian culinary television programs to create exclusive content based on the guide.
Key opinion leaders from mainland China, the UK, Southeast Asia and other regions will visit featured restaurants and share experiences on social media, with combined promotions expected to reach over 100 million followers.
In addition, media from mainland China and international markets will visit in March to dine at selected spots, meet master chefs and cover the “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants” awards ceremony, hosted in Hong Kong for the first time.
The campaign celebrates the city’s vibrant dining culture and invites both visitors and locals to savor authentic “Hou Mei”—delicious flavors—in every neighborhood.
