Police have dismantled a suspected drug manufacturing operation in Yuen Long, arresting three people and seizing drugs with an estimated street value of more than $7 million.
Officers raided a village house in Yuen Long last Saturday (Jan 3) as part of an anti-narcotics operation. Two local men and one mainland Chinese woman (aged 21–35) were arrested on suspicion of manufacturing dangerous drugs, drug trafficking, and conspiracy to traffic dangerous drugs.
Police seized about 7.9 kg of cocaine, 1.2 kg of methamphetamine, 741 g of crack cocaine, 598 g of ketamine, and 259 etomidate vape cartridges. Police also seized drug-making equipment. The haul was valued at approximately HK$7.74 million, police said.
Senior Inspector Chow Ka-yun said a drug syndicate had recruited young people by promising “fast money,” using taxis and goods vehicles to transport drugs and village houses as production and storage sites. Police identified key members of the syndicate by analyzing suspicious vehicles and license plates before making the arrests.
Sources said one of the suspects is 35-year-old singer Kris Law Kai-chung, also known as KIS or “Gou Mo,” who previously took part in ViuTV talent show Good Night Show – King Maker in 2018. Law gained attention for his singing and guitar skills and was once regarded as a strong contender before being eliminated in the top 20.
The suspects remain in custody and are expected to be charged and appear at Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Courts on Monday (Jan 5). Police said investigations are continuing.
