Residents evacuated after fire breaks out at On Ning Garden flat in Tseung Kwan O

A flat at Block 2 of On Ning Garden in Tseung Kwan O caught fire on Tuesday afternoon, forcing a number of residents to evacuate to the rooftop.

The blaze, which broke out at around 5pm, produced heavy smoke. Residents fled either downstairs or toward the rooftop.

Firefighters used one water jet and one breathing apparatus team to put out the fire.

No injuries were reported in the preliminary assessment. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
