Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung encourages first-time voters to actively participate in the Legislative Council (LegCo) General Election next month.
In a social media post on Sunday (Nov 9), the security chief noted that over the past two days, he and his team have been engaging with the community to promote the election scheduled for December 7.
Tang highlighted that he encountered a group of first-time voters while supporting an election street counter at Central Pier this morning.
He learned about their hope for young people's voices to be heard during conversations with them and encouraged them to use their votes to help shape Hong Kong's future.
"From the New Territories to Hong Kong Island, every vote is equally important," he stated.
He also mentioned participating in the "Election into the Community" Roving Interactive Exhibition at Tuen Mun Town Plaza, where the atmosphere was lively and residents were highly engaged.
"We took the opportunity to explain the voting arrangements to everyone and encourage active participation in the vote," he added.
