Man pulled unconscious from Tsim Sha Tsui waters dies in hospital

A man spotted floating in the sea off Tsim Sha Tsui’s Star Ferry Pier on early Saturday morning was hauled out by marine police and rushed to hospital, but could not be revived despite efforts to save him.

Around 7am today, passers-by noticed the figure drifting near the pier and immediately alerted authorities.

Marine police and rescue teams arrived swiftly, hoisting the unconscious man from the water.

Paramedics performed emergency aid at the scene before an ambulance took him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Despite resuscitation efforts, he was ultimately pronounced dead.
