Foot fetish fiend on the loose in Kwai Chung netizens warn

A middle-aged man with a bizarre fixation on feet has sparked widespread alarm across Hong Kong after online videos and photos exposed him tricking strangers into letting him touch and admire their bare feet.

The suspect, described as neatly dressed in a blue shirt and carrying a backpack, typically approaches victims in the evening between 6.30pm and 7pm around Kwai Chung Sports Ground and Kwai Shing Swimming Pool.

The man begins by asking what shoe size someone wears, then persuades them to remove their footwear under the pretense of inspection.

Once the shoe is off, he lifts the bare foot, repeatedly pressing and caressing it while exclaiming how large it is.

In one widely shared clip, he handles a shirtless man’s foot with intense fascination, rubbing it vigorously.

Internet users quickly identified him as a known repeat offender, with reports of similar encounters stretching back years and spanning multiple districts, including Kwai Fong MTR station, Aberdeen, Lai King, and even inside train carriages.

Victims include both men and women, from students to adults.

Several recounted being caught off guard when he suddenly grabbed their foot without warning, while others said he targeted young males in particular.

Many labeled the behavior as predatory and disturbing, with some joking darkly about his apparent arousal from the act.

A few, however, downplayed the incidents, suggesting the touching was harmless or even a free foot massage.

Legal expert Barrister Albert Luk Wai-hung clarified that while the feet are not considered intimate body parts under Hong Kong law, unwanted touching with sexual intent can still constitute indecent assault.

The offense does not require contact with private areas if the act is deemed lewd and non-consensual.

Netizens urged caution, especially for young people, and advised reporting any encounter to police.
