An accident occurred in Tsuen Wan shortly before noon on Saturday, when a woman was hit by a red-roofed minibus while crossing the street.

The incident occurred outside 31 Chuen Lung Street, where the 64-year-old woman surnamed Tsang, who had just purchased roast meat, attempted to cross the road from right to left in front of an approaching vehicle.
Despite the driver’s efforts to brake, the minibus collided with her, dragging her underneath the vehicle.
Images circulating online showed the woman trapped almost entirely under the minibus, visibly conscious but with a look of terror.
Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and extricated her, after which she was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in a semi-conscious state for treatment.
Following a preliminary investigation, police arrested a 63-year-old minibus driver surnamed Tsim on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving.
He is currently in custody for further investigation, and the minibus involved in the incident has been towed for examination.
