As Typhoon Ragasa approaches with significant force, Hong Kong braces for severe weather conditions, prompting local airlines to introduce flexible booking policies for travelers.
Cathay Pacific, Greater Bay Airlines, and Hong Kong Airlines have announced measures to assist passengers affected by potential disruptions from September 23 to 25.
Cathay Pacific has waived fees for rebooking or changing destinations for flights to and from Hong Kong.
This applies to tickets issued on or before September 19 for travel originally scheduled between September 23 and 25.
Passengers can modify their bookings until September 25, with new travel dates permitted until November 30, subject to seat availability.
Similarly, Greater Bay Airlines has introduced special ticketing arrangements for passengers scheduled to depart between September 23 and 25.
Travelers can change their flights within seven days of their original departure date, with new travel dates allowed within ten days of the original schedule.
Additionally, passengers booked for September 24 can request refunds within 14 days of their original departure date, with all associated fees waived.
Those seeking to modify or cancel their bookings are advised to contact their ticketing agents.
Hong Kong Airlines anticipates potential delays or cancellations for flights departing from or arriving in Hong Kong between September 23 and 25.
The airline has also temporarily suspended online check-in services for some flights during this period.
To accommodate affected travelers, Hong Kong Airlines is waiving fees for rebooking or rerouting on all confirmed tickets.
