A Hong Kong Police Force delegation, led by Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Chan Tung, Director of Crime and Security, attended the 25th INTERPOL Asian Regional Conference in Singapore, engaging in discussions and bilateral meetings to enhance international cooperation in combating cybercrime and transnational organized crime.
From September 17 to 18, a Hong Kong Police Force delegation, headed by Chan, participated in the 25th INTERPOL Asian Regional Conference, was held at the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation in Singapore.
The biennial event brought together 165 senior law enforcement officials from 49 countries and regions to discuss strategies for combating organized transnational crime across Asia.
The conference focused on critical issues such as regional police cooperation, fraud prevention, cross-border fugitive tracking, human exploitation in the digital age, and the integration of technology and training in modern policing.
A highlight of the event was a keynote speech delivered by Senior Superintendent Lee Frances King-hei from the Hong Kong Police Force’s Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau.
She shared insights from cross-border operations, highlighting emerging cybercrime trends and the importance of international collaboration in enhancing law enforcement effectiveness. Her presentation was well-received, fostering potential for future partnerships.
During the conference, Chan held bilateral meetings with law enforcement representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Cambodia, Vietnam, South Korea, and Germany.
These discussions emphasized collaborative efforts to tackle pressing issues like fraud and cybercrime, strengthening ties with global partners, and boosting the Hong Kong Police Force’s capacity to address cross-border criminal activities.
The Hong Kong Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging the city’s role as a "Super Connector" for law enforcement cooperation through INTERPOL’s platform.
By aligning with the government’s policies, the force aims to deepen coordination with Asian and international law enforcement agencies, contributing to a safer global community through enhanced collaboration and innovative policing strategies.
