The incident occurred around 3pm today when the vehicle, which was driving along Ichang Street, suddenly lost control and mounted the sidewalk at a high speed and plowed into the restaurant.
Pictures circulating online showed that the noodle shop's entrance was smashed, with concrete debris and litter scattered on the ground. The interior of the shop was also in disarray.
Rescue personnel have arrived at the scene after the driver reported chest pain following the collision.
The body of the taxi involved was marked with the word "Amigo," suggesting it belonged to the licensed Amigo fleet, which began operations in July.
The fleet manages approximately 1,000 taxis, the majority of which are electric vehicles. It also provides online ride-hailing services with instant customer assistance.
