The event celebrated IWL’s 40th anniversary and promoted physical wellness, intergenerational harmony, and inclusive values, aligning with the 15th National Games and 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities.
Prominent guests attended the event, including Mrs. Janet Lee, Wife of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR and Honorary Patron of IWL; Ms. Chu Shui Man, Joanne, Dep Comr for Tourism; Mr. Yu Kin Keung, Edward, JP, District Officer (Yau Tsim Mong); and Ms. Chan Lok Nga, Joyce, Commissioner for Women Affairs (Home and Youth Affairs Bureau).

The sports day united youth and seniors in activities such as floor curling, cornhole, and soft darts, fostering empathy and respect between generations. Youth participants developed essential skills through their involvement in planning, volunteering, and judging roles.
Mr Maximilian Lee, Ageless Arena founder, emphasized the event’s role in redefining inclusion as a cross-generational learning experience. He noted that the seniors’ wisdom and adaptability served as role models for the younger participants. “The youth who participated in teaching the elderly found the experience more enjoyable than they had initially anticipated, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere,” Max Lee added. “The youths not only learned to communicate effectively with seniors but also grew personally from the invaluable experience.”
IWL Chairperson Ms Vivian Tsui highlighted the importance of nurturing inclusive values among youth, stating that the event fostered a compassionate spirit and contributed to social harmony. Honorary Patron Mrs. Janet Lee commended IWL’s 40-year commitment to promoting public welfare, including empowering disadvantaged groups and promoting Chinese culture.
The Inter-Gen New Emerging Sports Day served as a testament to the power of inclusive and cross-generational events in strengthening communities and nurturing empathy.
