Tutoring center's call leads to discovery of bloody scene in Yau Ma Tei apartment

A woman discovered her husband and two young children unconscious and bleeding inside their locked Yau Ma Tei apartment on Wednesday afternoon after becoming concerned when her son did not arrive at his tutoring center.

The incident occurred at around 3pm at Kam Wah Building, located at 831 Canton Road. Police said they received a report from the woman, who explained that she had rushed home after the tutoring center contacted her about her eight-year-old son’s absence from class.

Worried about the safety of her family, she returned to the apartment to find the main door locked from the inside.

Forced to break into the unit, she made the grim discovery: her husband in his 40s, her eight-year-old son, and her three-year-old daughter were all injured, lying unconscious and bleeding.

Emergency services arrived promptly and rushed all three to the hospital.

Initial reports indicated that police officers recovered a knife at the scene. The circumstances that led to the incident are currently under investigation.
