Hong Kong’s senior officials, including the Chief Executive and key ministers, have publicly updated their annual registrations of interests, revealing a range of property holdings in Hong Kong and overseas. Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui Ching-yu leads with the most extensive portfolio among politically appointed officials.
A government spokesperson announced that the updated registrations of interests from the Chief Executive, politically appointed officials, and Executive Council members have been made available online for public review.
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu declared joint ownership with his wife of one residential property and a parking space in Yau Tsim Mong District, with each holding a 50% stake.
Hui reported the most substantial property holdings, with seven properties in total.
These include four in Hong Kong's Wan Chai and Central and Western districts, plus additional properties in Hangzhou for self-use, Singapore for self-use, and Australia, which is leased out.
Other significant declarations came from Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong, who reported four residential units in Kowloon City, and Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang Kwok-wai, who declared one self-used residential property in Dongguan.
Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan owns a self-used unit and parking space in the Central and Western District.
Among non-official members, Executive Council member Kenneth Lau Ip-keung reported extensive land holdings, including 342 plots in Tuen Mun, 43 in Yuen Long, and 55 in the Northern New Territories, in addition to a seven-unit residential building in Tuen Mun.
Another member, Moses Cheng Mo-chi, declared two leased units in London.
These annual disclosures are conducted in accordance with Code for Officials under the Political Appointment System (PAO Code) and Executive Council regulations, serving to maintain transparency among senior officials.
