Over 20 classic films re-screened at $80

During the first three days of the opening, audiences can enjoy the screening of over 20 classic films, including "Somewhere in Time", "Gone with the Wind", "The Godfather", “Rashomon", "The Warlord", "Behind the Yellow Line", and "Nomad."
In addition to the classics, the beloved Japanese animated film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle" is set to have the most screenings, with a total of 13 showtimes.
Additionally, the theatre plans to renovate its facilities to offer multifunctional spaces for local artists and theatre groups to hold small performances.
Phoenix rising
Founded in 1972, the Sunbeam Theatre was the only venue in Hong Kong for long-term Cantonese opera performances, witnessing the glory days of classic productions like "The Flower Princess".
Dubbed the "Hall of Cantonese Opera in Hong Kong," the theatre announced its reopening at the former Golden Harvest location in Whampoa after closing due to the landlord's decision not to renew the lease in March.
In an earlier announcement, the new theatre aims to carry on the legacy of the original venue, establishing a new cultural landmark by integrating the "Sunbeam Spirit" into modern life and the community and attracting more people to participate in cultural heritage.
