Lo Kim-ngai, the defendant, was arrested after surveillance footage allegedly captured him tampering with bottles of "Coca-Cola" and "7 UP" at a Wellcome supermarket in Nam Cheong Place, Sham Shui Po, on August 6.
He has been charged with one count of "administering poison or other destructive or noxious thing with intent to injure," specifically for allegedly contaminating the beverages with urine.
Magistrate Patrick Tsang Hing-tung denied Lo's bail, ordering him remanded in custody until the next hearing on October 21 to allow further police investigation. The defendant, who did not enter a plea, was escorted back to detention by correctional officers.
