Hong Kong is putting the final touches on its preparations for the upcoming National Games, with organizers ensuring smooth logistics for athletes, free-to-air TV coverage for local audiences, and special entry arrangements for delegations.
The head of the Games' coordination office, Yeung Tak-keung, shared these updates during a Monday radio program, highlighting the city's readiness to co-host the multi-sport event.
With the final athlete list yet to be confirmed, the sports official said authorities are fine-tuning arrangements for accommodation, transportation, and hospitality.
Yeung emphasized that once the participants are finalized, the focus will shift to ensuring seamless support for competitors.
In a move to maximize public engagement, the games will be broadcast locally through free-to-air television stations, with China Central Television (CCTV) handling the primary production of event footage. Meanwhile, ticketing systems are undergoing final testing, and details on public sales will be announced soon.
To facilitate smooth arrivals for athletes and officials, special clearance channels will be set up at four major entry points, including the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station and Hong Kong International Airport.

These dedicated lanes will ensure that delegations can pass through efficiently without disrupting regular passenger flow, said Yeung.
Yeung also revealed that all test events in Hong Kong have been successfully completed, receiving positive feedback from the General Administration of Sport of China and relevant sports associations. Minor adjustments to competition venues will be made based on expert recommendations.
Meanwhile, Yeung said authorities are collaborating with travel agencies to create bundled ticket packages, in a bid to boost tourism in the city. Additionally, eight themed tourist routes around event venues will be introduced, combining sports action with sightseeing opportunities at nearby attractions.
