MTR and SF Express have partnered to allow passengers to conveniently retrieve lost items through home delivery or self-collection at over 1,000 points.
Passengers could choose to have their lost and found items delivered by SF Express to designated local addresses, SF stores or lockers with a "pay by receiver" arrangement at the price of HK$28.
The MTR Lost Property Office will arrange delivery based on the information provided by the passenger concerned with a notification email to follow upon completion of the order.
The service is limited to items weighing less than 15 kilograms. Specific items, such as those requiring in-person verification such as cash, valuables, time-sensitive items, and items restricted under SFHK's delivery terms, are not available for this service.
MTR said it receives and handles an average of around 12,000 lost property found cases and approximately 8,300 lost property reports or enquiries every month.
The most common lost properties found include Octopus cards, handbags, umbrellas and items reflecting current trends or seasons, for example some popular cartoon character plushies and accessories.
