Over 30 countries and regions will be participating in the 2025 Asia+ Festival to be held from September to November in Hong Kong, which will showcase over 100 cultural programs.
The festival this year, now in its third edition, will also mark the number of participating countries and regions doubling as compared to its inaugural year.
This year’s opening act will be The Cherry Orchard, a critically acclaimed Korean theatre production directed by renowned director Simon Stone, starring Cannes Best Actress Doyeon Jeon and Haesoo Park, who took the world by storm in TV drama Squid Game.
Other programs include Hinotori–The Wings of Phoenix, a world tour production presented by renowned Taiko-drumming group YAMATO: The Drummers of Japan, and Tango After Dark by tango world champion Germán Cornejo and his dance company.
Another highlight is a dance and music show, We wear our wheels with pride, created by award-winning South African choreographer, which pays homage to the Zulu rickshaw drivers.
The Human Expression Dance Company from Singapore will work with Hong Kong and Macau artists to present Strangely Familiar, a dance show challenging audiences to rethink connection, presence, and existence across both physical and digital realms.

At a program briefing yesterday, Connie Lee Kit-yee, chief manager for festivals and audience development at the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, said the Asia+ Festival is committed to becoming an international cultural brand and platform, fostering sustainable exchange among Asian countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
