New shopping mall Scramble Hill in Kwun Tong set to open with focus on families and youths

Kwun Tong's brand new shopping mall Scramble Hill, a redevelopment project of former KMB Kwun Tong Depot located on Hau Ming Street, is set to commence operations in phases beginning in the latter half of this year.

The shopping mall boasts a 10-floor structure with an estimated total gross floor area of 500,000 square feet, comprising over 180 retail units. The initial phase will introduce dining establishments tailored for the office units that have already been occupied.

The mall's name draws inspiration from Japan's Shibuya district, where Scramble Square and Scramble Crossing are located. The name also symbolizes diversity and vitality, the developer Sun Hung Kai Properties added.

Maureen Fung Sau-yim, Executive Director of SHKP, said she believed the two malls would not have the same target visitors after their rebranding. 

With a 15,000 square feet creative pet communion sky garden located at the new mall's 9th and 10th floors, Fung said Scramble Hill will be focusing on young people and families.
