A 64-year-old male driver was injured after his car lost control and overturned on a flyover in Kowloon Bay on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 1.09pm on Kthe ai Fuk Road Flyover, heading toward the Kai Tak Tunnel. According to police, the sedan veered out of control, collided with a lamppost and a stone barrier before flipping onto its side.
The driver, surnamed Lam, was temporarily trapped inside the vehicle before firefighters freed him. He sustained leg injuries but remained conscious and was taken to United Christian Hospital for treatment.
Photos circulating online showed the car’s front severely damaged, with the roadside barrier smashed and the lamppost knocked askew by the impact.
The accident prompted a full closure of the Kai Fuk Road Flyover toward the Kai Tak Tunnel near Cheung Yip Street, while the sole lane heading toward Kwun Tong Road was also shut. Motorists were advised to use alternative routes, with KMB bus routes 11X and 215X diverted, causing heavy traffic congestion.
The affected roads were later reopened.
