An incident of road rage involving a red minibus and a black private vehicle in Yuen Long resulted in the arrest of two individuals.
The event, which was recorded and widely circulated, captured the minibus driver repeatedly ramming his vehicle into the private car after it was obstructed by several men armed with weapons.
The conflict occurred on Tai Tong Road, where the black private car halted in front of the minibus, while five men wielding steel rods gathered nearby. Subsequently, the minibus driver executed a sudden maneuver, reversing the vehicle and accelerating into the left rear of the car, causing it to spin.
Three individuals standing behind the vehicle were caught off guard, with one being knocked to the ground amidst the noise of a fallen metal rod.
Shortly thereafter, the minibus navigated around the black vehicle and reversed again, striking the right side of the private car.
As the minibus driver prepared for another impact, a man dressed in black approached the driver's side and forcefully struck the minibus door. During his attempt to hit the door once more, the minibus reversed and the man managed to evade the collision.
The minibus driver remained inside the vehicle briefly amidst the commotion before absconding from the scene. Reports suggest the incident may be connected to local gang rivalries concerning the Tai Tong minibus route.
Police said they received a report around 10.50am on Saturday (May 10) regarding a private car blocking a minibus on Tai Tong Road near Shui Tsiu San Tsuen Road.
After several men confronted the minibus driver, the minibus collided with the private car twice, while one man struck it with a hard object. The minibus reportedly fled after the incident.
Following initial investigations, officers located the private car around 12.15pm in Lam Hau Tsuen and arrested two local men, aged 30 and 37, at Yan Lok Square.
The incident is listed as furious driving and criminal damage, and the investigation is ongoing.
