A man in shorts performed an unusual stunt inside an MTR carriage, resembling a real-life Spider-Man as he hung upside down, feet gripping the top part of the handrail and arms crossed, swaying with the rhythm of the train.
A passenger uploaded a video on the social media platform Threads, capturing a man in a black shirt and shorts hanging himself upside down on the top of the iron railing, his shoes resting on the ground below.
While he appeared relaxed, with his hands clasped together, his flushed red face contrasted sharply with his skin tone.
In the video, the carriage was not crowded, with only a teenager in black seen glancing around behind the man.
The post quickly garnered attention online, with netizens expressing concerns for the man, citing potential head rushes and the risk of injury if the train stopped suddenly.
Some humorously dubbed his act “MTR upside-down meditation—a new level of mindfulness,” while others compared him to a bat.
Aside from the curious teenager, most passengers remained quiet, scrolling through their phones, seemingly unfazed by the spectacle.
Many commenters suggested that such unusual behavior has become commonplace, noting the man’s stunt not meriting attention.
According to the MTR By-laws, anyone causing nuisance or annoyance to other passengers could face a fine up to HK$5,000.
