Parents have reported sudden closures of some centers and the deactivation of the group's social media accounts, leading to unanswered calls and concerns over prepaid vaccination plans.
The situation has escalated as the number of affected individuals exceeds a thousand. A group of these parents has filed complaints with the Consumer Council and reported the issue to the police. The Sing Tao Headline, a sister publication of The Standard, is actively seeking responses from the medical group.
The controversy began when parents, who had purchased expensive vaccination packages at a baby expo, found that after receiving only partial vaccinations, some centers shut down abruptly. This left many children without the necessary follow-up shots, causing outrage among the parents. As of 5pm today, nearly 600 people had joined a group formed by affected parents.
Parents shared their frustrations online, stating that they felt deceived by the company after their children received only one shot before the centers closed. Operational issues were evident as parents visiting various centers reported signs being removed, unresponsive phone calls, and staff giving irrelevant responses or claiming unpaid wages.
A leaked text message to a part-time employee revealed that the company would suspend operations starting today, terminating all work arrangements immediately. Rumors circulated about the company's executives fleeing or being severely ill, though these claims remain unverified.
Despite these issues, the group's official website is still operational, though it now lists only two vaccination centers, down from seven branches reported in February.
Reporters visiting the Tsim Sha Tsui medical center found it operational yesterday (Apr 30), with staff continuing vaccinations despite being unable to contact management. However, the center was closed today, and a recorded message stated that the company was "closed for a public holiday."
