Cross-border passengers are advised to be mindful of the last train schedule and plan their journeys accordingly, as four consecutive concerts at Kai Tak Sports Park begin tonight.
MTR announced enhanced services on the Tuen Ma Line and East Rail Line during the concerts.
Passengers are advised to check the last train schedule to Lo Wu Station as the concerts are expected to end around 10pm, which is close to the last train time for transferring from the Tuen Ma Line to the East Rail Line.
MTR also noted that the concert entry time coincides with the evening rush hour, which may lead to increased congestion at Tuen Ma Line stations.
Additional staff will be deployed at Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi stations. During the concert exit period, Entrance/Exit D near the sports park at Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi stations is expected to be busier. Passengers are encouraged to follow on-site instructions and allow ample time for their journeys.
Based on recent events at the sports park, most passengers should be able to board the first train to their destinations after arriving at the platform, it stated.
The Transport Department also announced that special traffic arrangements may be in place at Lok Ma Chau Control Point and Shenzhen Bay Port from today until early morning of April 28, depending on traffic conditions.
The authority urged drivers to pay attention to variable message signs and follow the instructions of on-site police officers during congestion.
