Kwu Tung Station construction underway with two cross-border railways planned

The construction of Kwu Tung Station from the phase one Northern Link(NOL) project has officially commenced and is targeted for completion in 2027, said Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po on Wednesday.

He said preliminary work for the second phase of the Northern Link Main Line has also begun, with a completion goal for 2034 to support developments around the San Tin Technopole, Ngau Tam Mei and Au Tau.

Meanwhile, to promote cross-border traffic, Chan highlighted the active collaboration with mainland authorities on two railway projects.

He said the investigation and design study for the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link, running between Hung Shui Kiu and Qianhai, and the detailed planning and design of the Northern Link Spur Line are expected to commence this year.
