Driver injured after vehicle flips on Tai Mo Shan, followed by taxi nearly hits rescue crew

A 25-year-old driver was hospitalized after he lost control of his car and overturned on Route Twisk after midnight.

The accident occurred when the vehicle veered off on Tai Mo Shan and flipped onto a hillside after the driver, surnamed Lee, attempted to navigate a left curve to avoid an animal wandering on the road.

The driver sustained injuries to his waist and face. He was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital while the 37-year-old passenger did not require hospitalization.

Meanwhile, a taxi nearly collided with rescue personnel at the scene after the accident. The driver stopped in time and no injuries were reported.

The taxi driver was later taken by police, and the vehicle was towed away for inspection.
