The online system of Hong Kong's flagship carrier Cathay Pacific was disrupted due to "system errors" on Thursday (Jan 23) morning, affecting ticket booking and flight check-in. The services were gradually reinstated after a two-hour disruption.
The airline's booking page on both the website and the mobile app showed that it had encountered a system error, preventing it from processing requests.
According to a notice issued by the company at 12.24 pm, other services affected include online booking management, member-related functions, and package bookings on the website.
In response to the incident this morning, Cathay noted that the check-in counter services at Hong Kong International Airport are operating without any disruptions, and all flights are running as scheduled.
It also reminds passengers to check in early for the flights, at least three hours before the departure.
Cathay apologizes for the inconvenience caused and appreciates customers' patience and understanding.
