Mainland tycoon files lawsuit against HK01 for defamation

Mainland tycoon Ji Xiaobo has filed a defamation lawsuit against media company HK01, noting that it had wrongfully depicted him as being involved with the kidnappers of the "KK Park" in Myanmar in one of HK01's online articles.

According to the writ, the plaintiff states that HK01 published a news report on December 16 last year including text, images, and excerpts that suggested Ji is connected to the scam parks in Myanmar and engaging in scams or kidnappings. 

Ji stated that the publication constitutes defamation and malicious falsehood, particularly since his name, background, and photo were identified in the article.

He applied to the court for an injunction, requesting that the defendant, HK 01 COMPANY LIMITED, be prohibited from reporting on the matter, demanding the removal of the article and compensation. 

Ji did not specify the amount he is seeking for compensation.
