Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung inspected the venue on Saturday and added that special bus routes would be arranged for the spectators' dispersal, with the objective of assessing the effectiveness of the traffic management measures.
Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui and Commissioner for Sports George Tsoi Kin-pan also visited the Park to inspect the arrangement and the audience's views.
The concert features popular singers including Jay Fung, Cloud Wan, and JACE, as well as the boy band Dear Jane.
The concert will benefit the Hong Kong Community Chest, with all proceeds, after deducting costs and expenses, going towards the development of local youth affairs.
Speaking to the media after the event, Tsoi said the delay was attributed to the malfunction of one of the escalators connecting the third and the fifth floor of the audience stand at 5.45pm, the peak period of admission.
“Concerning the safety issues, we implemented crowd control measures at gate H to slow down admission to avoid people gathering around the escalators.”
He added that emergency measures were adopted, including adding seats on the second floor and delaying the event, which was officially kicked off at 6.35pm.
A participant surnamed Xu expressed satisfaction with the overall arrangements, highlighting the clear signage and the staff's friendly demeanor in guiding the spectators.
“This is my first time attending an event held at such a magnificent venue in Hong Kong. I hope that the government will extend invitations to more international celebrities, through which I believe can further attract tourists and thereby boost the economy,” she said.
Audiences were not allowed to bring in items such as water bottles, professional photographic equipment and banners exceeding the specified size.
Some spectators placed their water bottles in the designated storage area before admission, with some claiming unaware of such requirements.
The Transport Department has arranged three special bus routes traversing the city, with nearly 15 buses in service. These routes include services to Tseung Kwan O via Kwun Tong, Mong Kok via Prince Edward, and Central via Wan Chai.
MTR services have also been enhanced, with train frequencies shortened from 5 to 6 minutes to 3 to 4 minutes per train, resulting in 12 trains running in each direction per hour.
