The alleged murder was reported to police at around 10.12 pm yesterday. A security guard at Block 7 of Po Tin Estate reported that a man had been stabbed in the back. The victim was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital and was declared dead at 11.55 pm.
Sources suggest the incident arose from a dispute between the victim and another man in his 50s, allegedly over a romantic relationship. The suspect was said to have ambushed the man outside the Tuen Mun building and stabbed the victim in the back.
At around noon today, police officers in tactical vests were seen searching for the suspect in Mong Kok. Some officers can be seen holding a picture of the suspect when canvassing buildings in the area.
Officers at around 3 pm stormed into Kwok Chai Building on Sai Yee Street after receiving word that the suspect was hiding within. The officers swept the building floor by floor but failed to locate the suspect.
The manhunt is still underway.
