This follows the recent removal of Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Lam Sai-hung, Secretary for Transport and Logistics.
Rosanna Law Shuk-pui has been appointed as the new Secretary for Culture, Sports, and Tourism, while Mable Chan Mei-bo has taken the helm as the new Secretary for Transport and Logistics.
Chan expressed her honor and enthusiasm about her new role, committing fully to supporting the local aviation industry to restore capacity swiftly, enhance connections with mainland cities, and expand the overseas aviation networks. She emphasized making full use of the three-runway system to meet the Chief Executive's requirements.
In shipping, Chan aims to strengthen industry cooperation, actively seek innovative changes, and overcome challenges. Her strategy includes developing green ports, promoting digitalization, enhancing collaboration with Greater Bay Area ports, and boosting high-value-added shipping services to elevate Hong Kong’s competitiveness.
Chan is also planning to introduce the concept of "dual innovation thinking," combining technological and policy innovations, to spearhead various projects in the "Transportation Infrastructure Blueprint." She pledged to maintain Hong Kong's world-leading public transportation system by ensuring efficient, safe, and affordable services and collaborating with the industry to meet the evolving needs for convenient and secure travel.
Additionally, Chan highlighted the significance of the upcoming opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park and the completion of related transportation arrangements. She mentioned the resumption of Shenzhen's "multiple-entry Hong Kong visa arrangement" and the strengthening of local and cross-border transportation services to accommodate the needs of travelers.
On the other hand, Law expressed her honor in assuming her significant new role and discussed utilizing recent central government measures to benefit Hong Kong, including the donation of giant pandas and the restarted multiple-entry visa scheme for Shenzhen residents.
She is preparing for the opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park and the joint hosting of the National Games with Guangdong Province and Macao Special Administrative Region, aiming to ensure active participation and enjoyment for both locals and tourists.
