The incident occurred around 9 am when Jo Nip Man, the ex-principal of G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College (Junior Primary Section), jumped from the 16th floor of Fu Yiu House of Lai Yiu Estate.
He was found lying unconscious on the ground and was pronounced dead after rushing to Princess Margaret Hospital.
Police confirmed Nip's identity after an investigation. A suicide note was also found at the scene and sources said the victim was under pressure due to the case and legal proceedings.
Nip was facing one count of theft for embezzling over HK$10 million from the school board between September 2018 and April 2021.
The case was mentioned at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Court for the first time this morning, where the defense revealed that Nip had been confirmed dead following the incident.
