The Vocational Training Council (VTC) has introduced five new courses for the upcoming academic year, including programs focused on artificial intelligence as well as Chinese medicine.

Among the offerings is the Higher Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence at the Hong Kong Institute of Technology (HKIIT), designed to provide students with industry-ready skills in generative artificial intelligence, language models, image processing, and computer vision.
As the first Chinese Medicine Hospital set to commence next year, the Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) is launching a new Higher Diploma in Chinese Medicine Professional and Operation to prepare students for Chinese medicine careers, including therapies, health care, and administrative and management responsibilities.
IVE is also offering a new Foundation Studies in Sports diploma for Secondary 6 graduates, equipping them with generic and sports-related occupational skills.
Further additions include the Higher Diploma in Digital Media Production and the Higher Diploma in User Experience Design program at the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) to meet the growing demand for skilled digital media designers.
In response to the government's revision of the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance, VTC's Senior Assistant Executive Director Raymond Kwok Chin-kon welcomed the changes and believed they would improve the regulatory framework and quality assurance mechanisms for self-financing postsecondary institutions.
