Seven more residential care homes for the elderly will become Recognised Service Providers under the Residential Care Services Scheme in Guangdong starting November 1, the Social Welfare Department announced today (Oct 22).
Five of the new homes are operated by mainland institutions, while two are operated under a partnership formed by Hong Kong organizations and Mainland elderly service operators.
This brings the total number of participating facilities to 11 across five Greater Bay Area cities.
Four of the newly added homes are located in Guangzhou, two in Foshan, and one Zhongshan. The care homes will provide subsidized care for seniors in the program.
