A diving performance event at Victoria Park swimming pool may be included as China's Paris Olympic delegation will visit Hong Kong by the end of August, according to sources.
However, it is uncertain whether the 17-year-old diving star Quan Hongchan will be part of the delegation, as the list of members is yet to be finalized.
According to sources from Sing Tao Daily -- The Standard's sister newspaper -- the athletes are scheduled to visit Hong Kong from August 29 to August 31 to engage with the public, continuing a tradition that has been in place since the Seoul Olympics in 1988.
Sources said the delegation will attend the welcome dinner at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 29.
They will then visit the Hong Kong Sports Institute, a secondary school on Hong Kong Island, and participate in the Olympians Variety Show at Queen Elizabeth Stadium at night.
On the last day of the visit, the athletes will be divided into groups to perform at Queen Elizabeth Stadium and Victoria Park swimming pool before leaving the city.
It was learned that the delegation will also meet the disciplined services during the visit, and the event is expected to be held at the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy.
The national team will also visit Macau as is tradition.
The Chinese national team had their best-ever performance at the Paris Olympics, winning 40 gold medals.
