Elderly man arrested for allegedly groping 90-year-old woman

A 64-year-old man with mental illness was arrested after he allegedly groped a 90-year-old woman living in the same elderly home in Wong Tai Sin.

Around 12.36 pm on Monday, an elderly woman in her nineties was groped in the elderly home on Fung Tak Road.

Officers arrived at the scene, and after conducting an investigation, they arrested a 64-year-old man surnamed Ma in relation to the crime.

He is currently remanded in police custody, and the case has been handed over to the Wong Tai Sin police district for follow-up.

The female victim complained of discomfort and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention.

It is understood that the incident occurred in the elderly home, and the two were both residents and knew each other.

The female victim has dementia, while Ma suffers from mental illness and needs regular checkups.

Sources have stated that the female employee had witnessed the incident, and after going through the security camera footage yesterday afternoon, they contacted the police to handle the incident.
