Six injured after single-decker collides with taxi near Discovery Bay Tunnel

A single-decker bus collided with a taxi on Cheung Tung Road, Lantau Island on Thursday, leaving six injured.

The accident occurred at 1.18pm when a Discovery Bay Transit Services
Route DB03P bus, driving towards Tung Chung, crashed with a taxi near the Discovery Bay Tunnel.

The taxi was seriously damaged, with the front completely crushed. Both the taxi driver and passenger were injured and trapped in the vehicle for some time.

Several passengers on the bus were also injured.

The Transport Department announced that the entire Discovery Bay Tunnel was closed due to the accident. It was reopened at around 2.50 pm.
