Yeung said that after talking with passengers, the response to sleeper trains was generally positive, as the trains help passengers better arrange their time and support the development of Hong Kong's tourism industry.
In the future, depending on demand and passenger feedback, discussions will also be held with international trading partners and the mainland government to consider whether to increase the frequency of trains.
Some passengers said the ride felt good, and toiletry bags, facial cleansing products, etc., were provided.
And mainlanders living in Hong Kong think that the sleeper trains, which depart from evening to morning and arrive in the morning, are very convenient.
They arrive as soon as they wake up and are suitable for business trips.
The beds on the trains are also very comfortable, and even if other passengers are moving around, they will not be disturbed.
MTR Chief Executive Jacob Kam Chak-pui said that the high-speed rail sleeper train provides citizens with an additional choice and, at the same time, attracts more mainland tourists to take the high-speed rail to Hong Kong, further strengthening the connection between Hong Kong and the mainland and revitalizing tourism.
He added that the MTR will fully cooperate to utilize Hong Kong’s hospitality better.
