An industrial accident occurred at a construction site in Ngau Tau Kok on Friday, leading to the injury of a 50-year-old construction worker.

Shortly before noon today, the worker fell seven meters into a one-meter-deep hole at the worksite of a private housing estate on Shing Fung Road in Ngau Tau Kok.
Fortunately, he did not lose consciousness. His colleagues discovered and swiftly reported the accident to police.
He suffered injuries to his waist and it is understood that he could not feel his body.
Rescuers soon came and sent the injured worker to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident and have classified the incident as an industrial accident.
Labour Department personnel subsequently arrived at the scene to investigate.
It is understood that the victim was working on a six-meter-high scaffolding at the time. It is suspected that his safety belt came loose and he fell to the ground.
