Starting at 2 pm, children were seen dressed up as legendary deities or other headliners while standing on steel frames that made them seem like they were floating mid-air.
Several Piu Sik sets used the anti-scam campaign as the theme. Children dressing as star fencer Edgar Cheung Ka-long, "flying fish" Siobhan Haughey and anime characters are also seen in the parade.
The event started at the Yuk Hui Temple, also known as Pak Tai Temple, with child actors parading around the island. The parade will conclude at around 5 pm at the Pak Tai Temple Playground.
As for the Bun Scrambling Competition – another major event of the Bun Festival – will start at midnight.
Thousands have joined the richly festive and culturally unique traditional festival, with the Sun Ferry Services Company saying the number of passengers coming to the island has reached 26,000 as of 5 pm.
The Hong Kong Cheung Chau Bun Festival Committee expects 60,000 people to visit the island throughout the day.
