Firefighters on Thursday morning finally put out a No.4 alarm fire that broke out in Hung Shui Kiu on Tuesday afternoon after nearly 42 hours.

The fire broke out at a construction site at Hung Shui Kiu, located in Tin Shui Wai, at 1.20 pm on Tuesday (Apr 9), with thick smoke billowing into the sky.
Firefighters initially evacuated around 150 workers and the number later increased to some 200.
Around 9.31 pm that day, the fire was upgrade to No.4 alarm.
During the operation, the Fire Services Department dispatched a total of 390 firefighters, including the Disaster Response and Rescue Team, Compartment Fire Specialists, two breathing apparatus teams, 129 fire trucks, ten ambulances, and seven water jets.
Drones were also dispatched to search for the source of the fire to take targeted fire-fighting actions, and fire-fighting robots were used to put out fires at close range.
At the same time, personnel installed vibration sensors to monitor the condition of the cranes at the site.
After the fire burned for nearly 42 hours, firefighters surrounded the fire at 6.22 am in the morning and finally put out the fire at 7.00 am.
After a preliminary investigation, there is no evidence that the case involves criminal elements.
Police and relevant departments will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
