Among them is 41-year-old Benson Tsoi Yat-ming, who was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 2007. Tsoi obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Leicester and specialized in criminal law, particularly organized and white-collar crimes.
Cheung also named Tsoi's wife Frances Lok Man-yin as senior counsel. The 43-year-old obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Master of Arts (Jurisprudence) degree from the University of Oxford and a Master of Laws degree from Harvard University.
Lok was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 2007 and mainly practices in company law, construction and arbitration, probate and trusts.
Queenie Lau, aged 41, is the other among the new silks. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Cambridge and was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 2008.
Lau has a general civil and commercial practice, including audit and professional negligence, defamation, employment and probate litigation.
Lau is the daughter of James Lau Yee-cheung, the former Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, while her mother is the headmistress of Diocesan Girls' School Stella Lau Kun Lai-kuen.
The appointments will take effect from the date of the Instrument of Appointment, which will be executed on May 11.
