A signal fault disrupted services on three major MTR lines - Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan, and the Island - during the morning rush hour on Thursday.
Netizens complained online that trains on the Island line were running at a reduced speed this morning, with its lights dimmed while passing through certain stations.
The MTR Corporation said at 8 am today that its signaling system “was not functioning smoothly”, which could lead to delays in its services.
It wasn't until 10.45 am that the railway operator announced that its service was gradually resuming normal, with the signaling system still under repair.
