Leong said in a Facebook post this afternoon that the liquidation process of the party has reached the final stage, as a final meeting was called today for members to receive the liquidation report.
The liquidator has also donated the party's remaining funds of some HK$97,000 to the Community Chest of Hong Kong.
This came after the party called a special meeting on May 27 and passed a motion to initiate the voluntary liquidation process.
Leong also said that the party’s temporary executive committee will resign en masse tomorrow (Sun) and the liquidator will file the return form of today’s meeting to the Registrar of Companies.
After registration by the Registrar, the Civic Party will officially disband three months later.
