Hongkongers will witness first-hand the champion of the 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship as it comes to the city on November 11 to 12.
The races, also the series' season finale, will take place in the Central Harbourfront Event Space. It is the first time that Hong Kong becomes the new venue for the international fully electric motorsport series.
Hong Kong will host two consecutive rounds on its newly built 1,225-meter half-mud and half-tarmac circuit, which are also the last two races for the season, meaning Hong Kong will be the stop for the champion to be crowned.
Each race will have five fully electric race cars to participate, while the venue can accommodate up to 8,000 people. The event is costing at least HK$90 million to stage.
The Hong Kong round also features the first city center track in the history of the race, along with being the first race that was held in the Asia-Pacific region during the World RX's 10-year history.
Ticket sales started on Tuesday (Oct 17) via Ticketflap from HK$310 for general admission, HK$860 for grandstand, while a Grandstand VIP zone weekend pass for 30 people costs HK$59,400.
The 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship began in June and is separated into ten rounds of races with stops in Portugal, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, and South Africa before concluding in Hong Kong.
