It is understood that the cop is the girl’s family member and has been suspended from duty.
The cop, identified as U.K.B. in court, was charged with three counts of indecent assault for sexually assaulting the girl “X” three times in a unit at the Sau Mau Ping disciplined services quarters in December 2019, July and August 2020.
Police first received the report on June 24, saying that a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man between 2019 and 2020. After in-depth investigation, police made the arrest in Wan Chai on July 4.
UKB needed not to enter a plea yet as he appeared before acting principal magistrate Daniel Tang Siu-hung today.
The hearing was adjourned by eight weeks to December 1 as requested by the defense, awaiting the defendant to seek legal advice and relevant documents.
UKB was then granted bail for HK$3,000. He must not leave Hong Kong, directly or indirectly contact prosecution witnesses and set foot in areas near the disciplined services quarters.
