Container house falls off tractor-trailer, halts traffic in Lai Chi Kok

Two prefabricated container houses fell off a trailer truck, bringing traffic on Ching Cheung Road near Lai Chi Kok to a standstill on Friday afternoon.

The truck was traveling towards Kwai Chung when the cargo suddenly fell off the trailer at around 2 pm today.

Fortunately, no other vehicles were next to the trailer truck when the accident happened, and no injuries were reported.

Police were investigating the cause of the accident and have arranged a crane truck to remove the container houses from the scene.

The Transport Department said due to accident, part of the lanes of Ching Cheung Road (Tsuen Wan bound) near Butterfly Valley are still being closed to all traffic as of 3.45pm.

It added that the traffic queue on Ching Cheung Road (Tsuen Wan bound) ends at Lung Cheung Road near Chuk Yuen Road, reminding motorists to use alternative routes such as West Kowloon Corridor.
