In the eventing competition of Asian Games’ equestrian events concluded on Monday at Hangzhou, the Hong Kong, China team put on a credible performance and was placed fourth, narrowly missing out on medals.

The gold went to team China, followed by Japan (silver) and Thailand (bronze).
In the final Jumping event of the eventing competition, the leading teams of China, Japan and Thailand all finished with zero faults, excluding the fourth-placed team of Hong Kong, China from the medal contest.
With a penalty of 32.3 points, Annie Ho was placed 8th, while Patrick Lam finished 10th with a penalty of 32.7 points.
Daniella Lin on board A Sparkling Bellini was penalized yesterday by 20 points, taking her total penalty points to 59, and was placed 16th.
Su Yu-Xuan on board Spypark Ferro XS was the day’s only zero-fault contestant in the Hong Kong, China team. But his cumulative penalty for the two previous events totaled 60.6, placing him eventually at the 18th position.
Asian Games’ last team and individual qualification competitions in show jumping will be held on Wednesday, 4 October. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Equestrian Team will be represented by Jacqueline Lai, Patrick Lam, Clarissa Lyra and Melinda Ma to compete for team position and qualification to the final scheduled on 6 October.
The HKJC Equestrian Team, comprising nine members, is representing Hong Kong, China in the dressage, show jumping and eventing competitions, with a total of 11 horse-rider combinations. It is the largest Equestrian Team Hong Kong, China squad ever to compete in the Asian Games, and the first time the team participates in both individual and team events in all three disciplines.
