Around 4 a.m. today, a car inside the San Wai Court parking lot located at 23 Tin King Road in Tuen Mun caught fire, with smoke bellowing from the area, leading a passerby who noticed the smoke to contact the police for assistance.
The firefighters arrived at the scene, deploying a water jet and a breathing apparatus team to combat the fire.
No one was injured, but the fire destroyed at least ten cars.
According to preliminary investigations, it was determined that the cause of the fire was suspicious.
The police combed through the security camera footage and found a man throwing flammable objects towards one of the vehicles in the parking lot.
The car owner was later contacted, and it was understood that he had been in an argument with someone before the incident, and the police did not rule out the possibility that it was an act of revenge.
