A man was declared dead after being rescued from the waters of Castle Peak Beach on Friday morning.
At 6.44 am today, a man was seen floating ten meters away from the shore of Castle Peak Beach, located in Tuen Mun, and was suspected to be drowning.
Other beachgoers immediately contacted the police for assistance.
The firefighters were alerted to the scene, pulled the man back to shore, and declared him dead on site.
The approximately 40- to 50-year-old deceased man was about 170 cm tall, had a thin physique, and wore black shorts.
He did not have an identity document on him, and the police are investigating his identity and why he was in the sea.
His cause of death is pending a forensic autopsy.
